Future compatibility and rate limiting for Reddit RSS feeds

Currently, my Reddit RSS feeds are working fine in BazQux. However, given Reddit’s ongoing restrictions and rate-limiting on RSS endpoints and API usage, I am wondering about the long-term outlook.

Does BazQux have measures in place (e.g., custom User-Agent handling, proxying, or caching) to handle potential future blocks or stricter rate limits from Reddit?

Just wanted to check if there are any recommended best practices for Reddit feeds in BazQux to avoid issues down the road.

Thanks for your great work on the reader!

BazQux Reader uses Reddit OAuth API with all the necessary rate limits. But it looks like Reddit is going to deprecate API access in March 2027 and there’s no replacement. Only some moderation apps. I don’t yet know what will happen, but there’s a high probability that Reddit will be unavailable.
