Sorry, I sent an email but then saw this support community. Kill The Newsletter added WebSub / PubSubHubbub support so emails are instantly pushed to an rss feed. Other sites that support WebSub seem to work correctly in bazqux, for example, emails sent to a similar service, notifier.in, show up in the feed within a few minutes. There seems to be a bug preventing it on kill the newsletter feeds. Is there anyway to fix this?
Sorry for not replying sooner. I saw your email but it required some digging, so I postponed it.
It’s fixed, WebSub now works for Kill The Newsletter (the issue was that it uses a SHA256 signature, whereas BazQux only checked for SHA1 before).
Thank you so much, it seems to be working perfectly now!
Sorry, just as a followup for this, feeds initially seem to work but then drop WebSub after a period of time and go back to time based polling.
The kill-the-newsletter hub no longer works. It receives subscription requests but doesn’t perform the actual subscription (it neither calls the subscription callback, nor sends any new data).
Try contacting the kill-the-newsletter to fix it.
Thank you, I opened a GitHub issue with them for those tracking. WebSub Broken · Issue #120 · leafac/kill-the-newsletter · GitHub
I’ve also sent them an email reporting the issue. Hopefully we can get this resolved.
Hi @vshabanov
I am making the transition from Feeder to BazQux. I have several Kill the Newsletter feeds: some of them are 2+ years old, but also have new ones (1-2 day old feeds). All of these feeds are getting updated propely in Feeder, but not in BazQux. Could you please why it is not working in BazQux, but only in Feeder?
Same here.
My Kill the Newsletter feeds seem to have stopped updating in BazQux around 19-20 April, but continue to run in Inoreader.
FYI: since today, my Kill the newsletter feeds are also showing up in BazQux and seems to be updated.
Same here. No idea if the issue was with Kill The Newsletter or BazQux. @vshabanov any insight? Thanks.
There was a bug introduced around 20 April, that lead to download errors when WebSub hub was broken. It’s fixed since yesterday.
